The Gifts Every Child Needs
In recent history, humanity was advised to be modest, because it kept man pliable and contained; but denying children opportunities to shine through their uniquely Divine, gifted talents has slowly spawned the low esteem, Prozac generation.
Emphasis on the greatness within, which can provide infinite power and blessings, was submerged, as youngsters were taught to seek material acquistion – which often encouraged greed – and social status, which usually engendered low self esteem. Yet, with material acquisition, one never has enough and is caught in a never-ending spiral of permanent wanting. With social status, it is always the class above which one seeks to penetrate in a perpetual cycle of inadequacy and varying degrees of desperation, borne of a need for constant approval and acceptance; but connecting to the inner self has infinite power to sustain, propel and reward, without dependence on the fickle nature of people and things.
Man, in his confusion, has burrowed further into the deepening vortex of permanently increasing needs and low self esteem, unable to grasp even the rudiments of true self respect, unless someone or something gave him or her that permission for every action performed: joy could only come sporadically from external sources when ‘victorious’, yet it is at its greatest when it emanates eternally from within.
Your child IS a genius in some way and whether it is tangible or intangible, that gift needs identification and support, so that he or she can occupy a reserved position in a community or global constellation of equally recognised and mutually appreciative, symbiotic stars. Humility and genius is a far more productive and rewarding amalgam for a happy, fulfilled life than denial of talent and low self esteem. Genius, with the correct guidance, should not become synonymous with arrogance and vanity.
The most important gifts we can instil in a child are self belief, mutual respect and the key to unlock a Divinely provided talent the rest of the world is eagerly awaiting and needs. For these, you, as a parent or guardian, need to offer that key through what money cannot buy: love, care, encouragement and time. There are no finer investments you will ever make than in the sound, stable development of the next generation through the happy, fulfilled growth of your child, who knows exactly where he fits into that constellation and what he is destined to do for mankind.
